Going Home and Getting Settled

We are finally home and Drew is with us! It is a great feeling to know that we do not have to go back up the hospital any more for the early morning or late night feedings. We had a great time taking him home in his new carrier and showing him his room for the first time. Drew is adjusting is doing great! He is eating every 3 hours or so. I think that I was expecting it to feel very different having a baby at home and adjusting to that schedule but it feels very natural and it is a wonderful experience!

Here are some of the cute things he does right now.

1. Drew has a green paci that the hospital gave him. He is cute when he get serious about it. He makes this sucking sound like a cartoon baby with a pacifier. To us, it sounds like "crunchy, crunchy, crunchy" and it always makes us stop and and laugh.

2. He often sounds like a little pig. He snorts and grunts all the time as he stretches, looks around and is being burped.

3. We call him Whodini because he is so good at getting out of his swaddled blankets. We will set him down and look back over at him moments later and he will have his little hands out. It is not as big of a deal now but at the hospital he was known for yanking his feeding tube off of his face. We have had to get better at making a tight baby burrito.
